EPDM Rubber Recycling Service for Manufacturers

We recycle and broker post-industrial EPDM scrap—not C&D or roofing tear-offs. If you produce EPDM from die-cutting, molding, extrusion, or converting, we’ll match your scrap with qualified outlets and coordinate logistics nationwide. You share composition, form, and volumes; we propose outlet options, pricing structures, and pickup schedules—then provide documentation and diversion reporting.

What We Accept

  • Type: cured only with no metal, plastic, flock or other material attached

  • Forms: die-cut skeletons, trim/flash, skiver, sheet/off-spec rolls, cured start-up/extruder purge (rubber), molded runners

  • Fillers: carbon black, CaCO₃; ash content disclosed

  • Packaging: bales, gaylords, supersacks

  • Typical volumes: full truckloads (by volume) preferred, LTL amounts on a case-by-case basis

What We Can Accept (with a caveat)

  • Whole off spec EPDM rolls with or without backing if your company is willing to sell the rolls as-is, no warranty, on a secondary market

What We Don’t Accept

  • Uncured EPDM

  • Cured EPDM with metal, plastic, flock or other material attached

  • Roofing tear-offs, membranes, or any C&D

  • Hazardous residues or oil-soaked materials

  • Mixed rubber loads that aren’t labeled/segregated by polymer

How It Works

  1. Share specs & photos (SDS, TDS, monthly tons)

  2. Outlet match & pricing (regrind/reprocess first; energy recovery last resort)

  3. Logistics (LTL/FTL; live load or drop trailer; BOLs & carrier coordination)

  4. Reporting (diversion confirmation; monthly summaries on request)

Logistics & Coverage

Nationwide pickups • Dry van standard (flatbed by request) • 5–10 business-day lead time from approved spec • Preferred prep: uniform pallets, banded/wrapped; bale dimensions & weights noted on BOL

Industries We Serve

Automotive gaskets/seals • Industrial hose/profiles • Building products • Custom rubber molders & converters • DCs with recurring EPDM returns

Documentation & Compliance

• W-9, COI, NDA on request • Certificates of diversion for qualified programs

Case Example

An automotive weather stripping manufacturer (~10,000 lb/mo EPDM die-cut skeletons) segregated adhesive-backed vs. clean trim. Clean trim went to reprocessing—cutting disposal cost and boosting diversion.

FAQs

  1. Do you buy EPDM scrap or charge for pickup? Both occur, depending on cleanliness, form, volumes, and freight.

  2. Minimum pickup? Pilot from ~2,000 lb; best economics at 20,000 lb+ (FTL).

  3. EPDM with fabric/adhesive backing? No for scrap pieces. For whole off spec rolls, we do have resale outlets.

  4. Pricing method? Spec-based and location (polymer value, cleanliness, freight).

  5. Mixed rubber? No.

  6. Does Waste Optima recycle other plastics? Yes we do! Check out our plastic recycling overview page.
