Product Overview

This is not a lab-grade chemical. This is a high-volume industrial byproduct stream (Sulfidic Caustic) tailored for facilities that value cost-efficiency over pharmaceutical purity.

It is chemically equivalent to "Synthetic Green Liquor," making it a drop-in feedstock for Kraft pulp mills, copper flotation circuits, and chemical upgrading processes.

  • Product: Sodium Hydrosulfide / Sodium Carbonate Blend

  • Active Content: ~25% NaHS / ~15% Na2CO3

  • Form: Liquid Solution (Specific Gravity ~1.2)

  • Origin: Industrial Process Byproduct (Consistent Stream)

Component Concentration Function
Sodium Hydrosulfide (NaHS) 20% – 30% Primary Sulfur Source / Metal Precipitant
Sodium Carbonate (Na₂CO₃) 10% – 20% Alkalinity Source / pH Buffer
Sodium Sulfide (Na₂S) 10% – 20% CAS: 1313-82-2 / CAS: 16721-80-5
Total Alkali High Replaces Soda Ash or Caustic Soda usage
Specific Gravity ~1.22 Heavy Brine Solution
pH >12.5 Strongly Alkaline / Corrosive

Applications:

  1. Kraft Pulp & Paper: Ideal for Green Liquor Makeup. The sodium carbonate provides alkali value while the sulfide maintains sulfidity levels. Replaces expensive emulsified sulfur and virgin caustic.

  2. Mining & Flotation: Cost-effective Depressant for copper/molybdenum separation. The high alkalinity provides natural pH buffering, reducing the need for additional lime or soda ash.

  3. Chemical Feedstock: Perfect base fluid for Nokes Reagent production or high-pH sulfide precipitation. Can be upgraded via causticization to remove carbonate for higher-value markets.

Logistics:

  • Shipping Mode: Bulk Rail Tank Car (Standard DOT-111 / DOT-117).

Frequently Asked Questions: Organic Biomass Disposal

Can this replace Sodium Hydrosulfide 45% Solution?

Yes, in many applications. While the concentration is lower (~25-30% vs 45%), the cost per pound of active sulfur is significantly lower, making it economically superior for high-volume users like paper mills.

Is this considered "Spent Caustic"?

It is a sulfidic caustic stream. Unlike typical refinery spent caustic, this stream is free of naphthenic acids and phenols, making it much cleaner and easier to handle for beneficial reuse.

Do you sell Sodium Sulfide Flake (60%)?

No. We strictly supply liquid bulk solution. We do not supply dry flake or solid forms.

Is this product suitable for Leather Tanning?

It can be used for unhairing, but it contains iron levels typical of industrial streams. Tanneries requiring low-iron sodium sulfide (<10ppm) should test a sample first.
